This winter paragliding and skiing challenge is composed of many fun and precise piloting tests in the air and in contact with the snow.
The numerous technical and practical exchanges of this discipline allow a good cohesion and a good development of the sporting and family spirit which reigns among the firemen.
A round consists of 3 to 6 events:
The aim of this challenge is to allow the association of children orphaned by firemen (ODP) to discover and share unique moments in tandem paragliding flights. Each year, children from different departments are welcomed. The challenge allows each year to bring back funds for their association.
All professional, volunteer, military and ADP fire fighters, active or retired, are eligible to participate in the challenge.
Non-firefighter guests will be classified in the OPEN category, subject to availability of places. They must be invited by a firefighter. A letter of invitation will be requested from SPs wishing to invite a friend, they will be placed on a waiting list.
It is recommended to have at least the level of initial paragliding pilot.
Paragliding liability insurance and a VHF radio are mandatory.
The number of participants is fixed by the organiser according to his means.
Dangerous manoeuvres for other participants or the public are forbidden, as well as low-level flying over ski lift cables and buildings.
Valmorel is well suited to ski flying. Pilots must respect the priorities in use and in the air rules, the flight restrictions, in particular flying in clouds is forbidden.
At any time the organizer together with the ED have the right to inspect a paraglider and to forbid it to fly for safety reasons.
Each glider must be flown within the flight envelope defined by the manufacturer.
Helmets and a VHF radio are mandatory.
All flight aids are allowed. But for the challenge no instruments will be necessary in particular.
