Very nice route to discover the valley of La Grande Maison and its large open spaces by the day.
It can be done by trained walkers as well as active families, but is not recommended for novice walkers or those who do not have a minimum condition because of its length. The vast majority of the route takes place through alpine pastures on open paths well exposed to the sun.
From the Pont de la Vieille Scie (1,430 m), you start the route on a wide forest path interspersed with grazed clearings. A long stretch along the Glaize stream leads you to Sous Plan Bérard (1510 m). Be careful, some passages are ford or in the immediate vicinity of the torrent, and in times of flood, the path can be found underwater. Be careful.
After crossing the watercourse by the metal footbridge, the forest track rises on the right bank to reach the chalet de Bizard (1890 m). The route then takes you through the alpine pastures of Feissons-sur-Isère to the Sécheron de Feissons (1930 m), where you can take shelter in the event of a thunderstorm. You cross a landscape of moors which turn blazing red in the fall.
The return to the Vieille Scie Bridge is then made via a long section in the forest and a passage to La Fougère (1504 m).
